ROLE
CHALLENGE
The project faced the challenge of identifying a gap in the extensive market for camera tripods, where it is difficult to differentiate and stand out. We needed to address the issue that existing tripods were often unstable, bulky, or challenging to adjust, and many were not suitable for use in gym environments. Additionally, users required a solution that catered to their specific needs, such as ease of setup, stability, and portability.

DESIGN
The design of the tripod is meticulously crafted to match Eleiko’s signature aesthetic. It integrates seamlessly with their existing products, such as barbells and racks, ensuring a cohesive look across their gym equipment. The tripod's sleek and functional design complements Eleiko’s high standards, both in terms of appearance and usability.

WHY OUR
PRODUCT?
Our camera stand simplifies the process for users by removing the hassles of personal stand ownership, including planning and shipping. It reduces stigma around gym filming and offers a high-quality, premium experience, as it’s sold directly to gyms. For gym owners, it provides control over filming areas, enhances personal training by tracking client progress, and allows for branded content in videos. Eleiko also gains an edge by offering a unique, high-end addition to their equipment lineup.

X-GRIP
We chose to use an X-Grip for securing mobile phones due to its versatility and strong grip. The X-Grip design accommodates various phone sizes and shapes, ensuring a secure hold during workouts. Its adjustable arms allow for quick and easy adjustments, providing users with a reliable and customizable mounting solution that enhances both stability and convenience.

MATERIALS
All materials used in our design are carefully selected to ensure they meet sustainability and quality standards. Our processes include thorough consideration of environmental impact and resource efficiency, as detailed in the case study.
01. Arms and Joints
PA6 with 30% glass fiber reinforcement was selected for the arms and joints for its low weight and high tensile strength. This material provides both durability and strength while being lightweight. It also allows for cost-effective production using multi-cavity molds.
02. Clamp Fixture
Aluminum was chosen for the clamp fixture due to its durability and aesthetic finish. Its high strength relative to its low weight ensures long-lasting performance, and its suitability for extrusion allows for the production of the fixture's components.
03. Telescopic Arm
The telescopic arm is made from aluminum to match the design of Eleiko's other products. Aluminum's lightweight and robust properties make it suitable, and production is handled by Eleiko, who have the capability to manufacture these components.
04. X-GRIP
The X-grip is manufactured by laser-cutting aluminum plates, which minimizes material waste and maximizes the use of existing equipment. The ball joint and other plastic components are injection-molded to create the movable parts, and assembled with screws, springs, and rubber cones sourced from external suppliers.

TELESCOPIC ARM
The telescopic arm is designed to echo the aesthetics and functionality of Eleiko's equipment. By using aluminum and incorporating similar design elements, it aligns with Eleiko’s existing racks and supports, maintaining a consistent look and feel across their product line. This design choice not only ensures visual harmony but also leverages Eleiko’s expertise in producing durable and high-quality components.
